Tradition of Financial Strength
The Training Center is funded by contributions from members of Local Union #393. Each member contributes more than seven times the national average from each paycheck to support the Journey-level program and the five-year apprenticeship program.
This strong financial base gives the Training Center the equipment necessary to allow it to offer comprehensive classes with as few as three to six students in specialty training, each receiving the maximum hands-on experience.
Other training facilities use rental equipment and need at least 25-30 people in each class to pay for rental costs. This student-to-equipment ratio means there is very little hands-on experience.
